Super Record 13 – In Every Shift. We Do One More.
Since its introduction in 1973, the legendary Super Record series has repeatedly redefined the limits of performance in cycling sports. Developed in collaboration with professional athletes, the current iteration is now set to take on a leading role in terms of shifting speed, ergonomics and handling.
The New Standard in Performance. While gear changes are even faster than with the previous 12-speed components, a wide range of gear ratio options ensures that every rider finds the optimum cadence. However, the Super Record 13 groupset embodies more than just an additional sprocket. It represents a completely new performance concept that forms the platform for Campagnolo's future developments.
More Choice. More Control. Following the launch of the classic 2-speed drivetrain system for road bikes, Campagnolo is expanding the Super Record 13 portfolio to include other areas of application. The introduction of specialized rear derailleur options not only forms the basis for a dedicated 1x13-speed road bike drivetrain, but also for a 2x13-speed Allroad version and the Super Record X model series, which also relies on a 1-speed drivetrain system and clearly focuses on Gravel use. A TT version for time trials and triathlons is also already in the starting blocks.
Campagnolo Super Record X cassette
With the Super Record X components, Campagnolo is expanding its platform for 13-speed drivetrain systems with a genuine Gravel option. The cassette of the Super Record X series not only offers one more gear for a completely new riding experience, with up to 48 teeth, even the most demanding Gravel routes can be mastered agilely and effortlessly.
The Super Record cassettes with 13 sprockets build on the experience Campagnolo has gained with the Ekar models and aim for even smoother, faster, more precise and quieter shifting operations. By optimizing the available space and using a suitably narrow chain, it was possible to add an additional gear without changing the standard freewheel body. This means that the Super Record X cassette also relies on the N3W system, which is used on all Campagnolo road bike wheels of the current generation. Neither an adapter nor a special hub are required.
The combination of a new tooth profile and the Black Chrome surface not only ensures reduced noise and smoother shifting, but also increases durability and wear resistance. The gear range has been specifically designed for the mono chainring construction, ensuring constant progression without excessive jumps and a smooth cadence even in adverse conditions. The lower difference between the sprockets allows for optimized power management, reducing fatigue and increasing the athlete's potential performance. Structurally, the Super Record X cassettes consist of 2 monoblocks, a small one with 3 sprockets and a large one with 4 sprockets (9-42 teeth) or 5 sprockets (10-48 teeth), depending on the version. There are separate individual sprockets in between.
