Customizable Control at your Fingertips. A highlight of the RX710 series is the electronic shift/brake lever for hydraulic disc brakes. Designed for the right side of the handlebar, the dual-control lever is a budget-friendly, wireless shifting option for 1x12-speed drivetrain systems. It combines the precise shifting performance for which Shimano is known with powerful and predictable braking performance. On the ergonomic side, the brake/shift lever can be optimally customized to personal preferences using the reach adjustment function. Once set, it offers a long battery life of up to 4 years. Like all electronic Di2 shifting systems, the ST-RX715 lever can be connected to Shimano's user-friendly E-Tube app. Once paired, this app can be used to adjust various settings related to shifting and to perform firmware updates.
The ideal complement for the left side of the handlebar is the BL-RS717 brake lever (not included), which is perfectly matched to the ST-RX715 lever in terms of design and ergonomics. By dispensing with the shifting function, it ensures also a simple and lightweight cockpit.
Shimano GRX BR-RX410 disc brake caliper
Thanks to improved modulation and a faster-responding pressure point, the hydraulic 2-piston brake caliper of the RX410 series gives Gravel athletes a completely new feeling of control. The 10 % wider brake pad spacing also reduces the occurrence of annoying brake noise, making the Flatmount caliper noticeably quieter than the predecessor model despite its flatter design.
J-Kit (Easy Hose Joint System) | For brake systems with J-Kit brake hose connection, the brake lever has an integrated squeeze seal (olive), which makes the installation and removal of the brake line much easier overall.
Dual Control Lever (DCL) | The Shimano DCL levers combine braking and shifting functions in one control unit for easy as well as comfortable operation. In raising the standard of performance, their innovative ergonomics are even more important to consider than adding additional gearing. However, the highlight of the STI shifters (Shimano Total Integration) shifters, is the ability to change gears front and rear with just one finger. The Dual Control levers owe this not only to an extremely precise and smooth operation, but also to the same stability for which Shimano's MTB technologies are already known.
Ice Technologies | In order to keep the braking power at longer continuous operation consistently high, Shimano has developed the Ice-Tech cooling technology for brake discs and brake pads. Brake pads with Ice Technologies feature cooling fins made of aluminum, which better dissipate heat. In conjunction with the optimized radiation properties of the rotor, this results in a longer durability of the pads, while brake noise and fading are minimized.
