The X2 RD R92 and the X2 RD R81 stem from the same vision but are designed for different targets.

The R92 has been designed explicitly for Dura-Ace 9200 cranksets, offering the broadest range of chainring options, from 50 to 56 teeth (50, 52, 54, 55, 56). The R81, on the other hand, is designed for Ultegra 8100 cranksets with three dedicated configurations: 50, 52, and 54 teeth, while maintaining the same design philosophy.
