With transitions becoming increasingly important - they are now considered the fourth discipline in any triathlon, whether it's a full Ironman or a sprint distance - Fizik has redesigned its tri shoes to meet the needs of the most demanding athletes. The Transiro Hydra is equipped with a single Velcro strap to allow for faster transitions where any mistake can cost crucial time. Additionally, the enveloping strap provides the strong foot hold athletes need to be efficient in any race situation. The Aeroweave upper ensures maximum breathability. The second generation of the Aeroweave fabric interweaves nylon fibers with filaments of thermoplastic polymers to create an even lighter shoe that retains its original strength and provides the strength and support needed in competition. The new upper is also softer, making it the perfect companion for those who prefer to approach cycling without socks.

The R2 outsole consists of a carbon fiber layup that saves weight and increases stiffness. With a stiffness index of 10, this outsole is the most responsive in the Fizik range. A wide ventilation inlet and deep internal channels provide a cooling airflow that helps regulate temperature. The cleat positioning is set slightly further back compared to conventional settings to optimize pedaling efficiency and reduce compression in the knee - particularly well suited for very aggressive, forward-facing aero positions typically adopted by triathletes.
