Walking is made especially pleasant by the grippy and self-cleaning Vibram® sole with two-component cushioning, which ideally absorbs any shocks from below. Specially tailored to alpine requirements, the sole also guarantees perfect grip on rocky surfaces, is crampon-proof and, thanks to the climbing zone in the toe area, even the smallest steps can be taken with enormous precision when climbing or via ferrata. A scree guard runs around the entire boot, which is pulled up slightly at the heel and thus also protects the rear of the foot area from rolling rocks when descending over scree fields etc.
Another advantage of the ELBRUS is its weight of only 800g (8UK), which is very light for a shoe of this high alpine class. Since the weather in the mountains can often change quickly, reliable protection against wet feet is an absolute must. Equipped with a GORE-TEX® membrane, water is kept out of the shoe and sweat produced inside the shoe is quickly wicked away.
