Knowing your feet are ratcheted down inside the shoes for hours on end, with ankles exposed to unforgiving hazards well below your bottom brackets, Assos decided enough was enough. Enter the TRAIL socks, which battle back with tall 18cm cuffs knit from yarns that contain tough, abrasion-resistant fibers.

In addition to being extremely durable, this shieldKnit yarn is also buttery soft and super breathable, making it ideal for the toe and heel sections. From there Assos targeted the arch, wrapping it with a lightly compressive band for further support and boosted breathability.

• Seamless construction: Absent of exposed seams, this 160-needle construction provides a seamless wrap on the foot for the ultimate in friction-free comfort.

• Cuff height: At 18cm (size I), the cuffs are tall enough to provide ample ankle and lower leg protection.
