Low weight, unique appearance and yet uncompromisingly stable and robust.

The profile of the Beast rim was subjected to an aerodynamic analysis by the CFD experts (computational fluid dynamics) of iXent from Munich and the former professor of the Stevens Institute of Technology Len Imes (New York) and optimized with the help of numerical fluid mechanics for the lowest possible aerodynamic drag in different driving situations. The rim thus embodies pure speed on the road. iXent and Imes drew on their numerous experiences with the Oracle Team USA (America´s Cup).

The rim is handmade in Dresden. With the "Solid Edge Design" (2.8 mm rim flange width) and the "Framed Edge" (circumferential layup on the rim flange), Beast Components obtains a particularly resistant rim flange that is protected against delamination and also withstands hard impacts. The rim is fitted with internal spoke nipples. Beast relies on small spoke holes ("Slanted Spoke Holes") which are milled at an angle and which ensure that the spoke does not bend at the nipple when the wheel is spoked in, thus achieving the best possible result with optimum spoke tension. An additional desired effect of this process is a clean look, which underlines the low weight and aerodynamic shape.

After the rim has been demoulded, only the burrs are removed. The surface will not be sanded anymore. This is the Beast Components' exclusive "Out Of The Box Finish". What you see, is what you get.

Beast Components - Handmade in Germany

The Beast Carbon components are produced entirely in-house at the Black East GmbH in Dresden, Germany - here bikes are loved and lightweight construction is lived. The quite young company is a spin-off of the Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre, a dedicated engineering department at the Technische Universität Dresden. Thus, the scientific standard when working with carbon as a material is the first priority. Using state-of-the-art techniques from the automotive industry, aerospace and innovative manufacturing processes, the quality and practicality of road and mountain bikes is expected to benefit and improve significantly. Final stage geometry optimizations and life expectancy of fiber-reinforced plastics are central keywords here.
