The 2x12-speed chorus crank is a true concentrate of technology and versatility. It is technically advanced because it uses a design technology with unidirectional arrangement of carbon fibres and the one-piece carbon components are moulded directly without surface coating. As with the Record crankset, an Ultra-Torque steel bottom bracket axle is used. It is versatile thanks to its 123 mm bolt circle, which at the same time ensures an extremely powerful structure for a wider range of applications. The reduced bolt circle makes this crank compatible with 52/36, 50/34 and also 48/32 chainring combinations.
Features of the Campagnolo Chorus 2x12
Q-factor unchanged (145.5mm)
Space requirements and biodynamics of the crank revolution do not change.
UltraTorque™ technology
Efficient transmission of pedal force without losses.
Differentiated number of climbing aids among the various chainring combinations
Always optimal engagement of the chain. Maximum efficiency of the shifting process.
Double bolt circle
The mounting of the largest chainring on the pedal crank is ensured by a 123 mm hole circle, while the inner chainring is mounted to the outer one on a 96 mm hole circle.
Symmetrical teeth for the inner chainring
Smooth and precise transmission even with extreme chain skew.
Technologies of the Campagnolo Chorus crank
X.P.S.S.™ (Extreme Performance Shifting System)
X.P.S.S.™ describes a project with a precise objective: to give Campagnolo derailleur groupsets the best possible derailleur performance. The Campy Tech Lab™ hit the mark once again. The new design of the upshift and downshift chain's shifting gates has been studied down to the smallest detail by means of mathematical calculations that simulate the possible chain movements on the chainrings and determine their ideal angles.
Ultra Torque™
Campagnolo has made sure that the two halves of the bottom bracket are inseparably connected to the respective crank arms. This new development has made it possible to significantly reduce the lateral projection from the frame at axle height, thus preventing undesirable contact with the ankle when pedalling.
Their assembly is extremely simple, a single oversize screw is used to firmly connect the two halves of the axle. In terms of the effectiveness of the torque transmission, this system is comparable to a one-piece axle.
Compatibility note:
Campagnolo Chorus shifting components should only be used with Campagnolo 12-speed mechanical components. This is the only way to guarantee functionality, precision and durability.
