The Chris King GRD23 are in many ways not like other all-road wheels. They offer more elasticity and comfort than comparable models made of Carbon. At the same time, they have a precise steering response and guarantee a secure track, whatever the surface.

The rims are made of FusionFiberTM, a state-of-the-art thermoplastic plastic-Carbon blend. This allows the stiffness and flexibility of the wheel to be perfectly adapted to the respective application. In addition, the material is recyclable, unlike conventional Carbon.

Another highlight are the super lightweight R45D hubs. They are the result of 45 years of experience in the development of hub bearings. They feature the Ring Drive freewheel system with 45 teeth, which provide low resistance and almost instant engagement.

FusionFiber | This plastic-Carbon blend is made from long-chain polymers rather than brittle as well as toxic epoxies and resins used in conventional Carbon. This allows impacts to be absorbed by microscopic bending in the fibers and dissipated radially throughout the rim. The result offers a smoother ride and much greater impact resistance.

Ring-Drive | Chris King was able to move the freewheel to the inside of the hub shell through a new design. In addition to better protection, this allows the use of a special toothed disc with a larger contact surface as well as 45 teeth. Thus, a significantly higher torque can be transmitted than with conventional freewheels. In addition, the many teeth guarantee an incredibly fast frictional connection in any situation.

Stainless steel bearings | These bearings have heat-treated surgical steel races that are always machined simultaneously. This guarantees a perfect match. The quality and speed of these bearings is what you feel on every ride. In fact, when the raceways of Chris King bearings are worn in, they become even smoother. With a little regular maintenance, this hub will survive years of hard use without problems.
